On May 21, 2021, Closed Loop Recycling celebrates its 25 year anniversary! Established in 1996, CLR has grown from a small company servicing a handful of local Missouri clients to a powerhouse recycling firm diverting millions of pounds each year from the landfill, servicing clients in more than 25 states.
Recent Growth
Offering PPE recycling and absorbent recycling services, CLR prides itself on having the most environmentally friendly recycling process in the industry. Each year, CLR sustainably recycles more than 200,00 gallons of oil and more than 3.5 million pounds of total absorbent and PPE material. Re-establishing corporate headquarters in Saint Louis city in 2012, CLR has opened 3 new production facilities since. First came Indianapolis in 2015, followed up by Oklahoma City in 2018 and Charlotte most recently in 2019. As CLR’s National Production Manager, Laurie Simpson is responsible for managing the sprawling operations. “New production plants means new machinery, production employees and service reps. That’s a lot of growth to manage but with each new facility, we standardize the process more and it becomes easier. The growth has transformed our company and the type of team member we look for. We prioritize the “whatever it takes” attitude and that strategy has paved the way.”
Looking Back
Closed Loop Recycling’s Managing Partner Jeff Huelskoetter attributes the sustained success to CLR’s 5 core values. “Our company’s founder and CEO Rick Marchbanks established our core values as a framework to reflect what our company should stand for. Our executive leadership team passes major decisions through the lens of our core values whenever the right path is unclear. While we are proud of our accomplishments and growth since 1996, we feel like we are just getting started”. Patrick Ettorre, National Sales Manager for CLR explains what the future may hold for Closed Loop: “We have more than doubled the size of the company since I joined up in 2014. No small feat but with the manufacturing industry’s renewed focus on green initiatives and our ability to offer our clients sizable cost savings with PPE Recycling and Absorbent Recycling, the sky is the limit. Our Customer Service and Operations Teams are better than ever, we are all really excited to see what the future holds”.
